Esta habitação unifamiliar, apresenta uma tipologia tradicional com 5 quartos, sala de estar, sala de jantar, escritório, cozinha, instalações sanitárias e lavandaria. A casa de piso térreo, tem um mezanino sobre as salas voltadas a Sul.
Esta implantação, relaciona-se com o muro de suporte da plataforma superior e com a entrada do terreno. Este jogo de tensões permite relacionar num só volume escavado, a moradia, o alpendre, e o percurso exterior contíguos às construções, criando, na sua envolvente, espaços ajardinados.
O desenho da cobertura permitiu, com uma cércea controlada, a colocação de um piso superior com um programa alternativo (voltado a Nascente e Norte) e um piso inferior voltado a Sul. Os grandes envidraçados, transformam esta construção com forte ligação tradicional, num quase “moderno regional”.
Formalmente, a casa apresenta uma cobertura tradicional em telha canudo de uma água, com francas aberturas viradas a Sul, onde se localizam os espaços nobres da casa. Uma bateria de serviços, está voltada a Norte, onde não é fundamental a vivência por longos períodos de tempo. No entanto, a possibilidade de ventilação da casa segundo um eixo Norte-Sul, dá-lhe capacidade térmica de aquecer e arrefecer os espaços, através de energia passiva, não sendo necessário recorrer a soluções de ventilação forçada. Os alpendres voltados a Sul, sombreiam os panos de vidro, evitando insolações, mas deixando a casa fortemente iluminada durante todo o dia.
A grande chaminé, tema central da arquitetura popular, funciona como uma rótula, onde se insere a cozinha e a chaminé da lareira voltada para a grande sala de estar.
This single-family dwelling has a traditional typology of 5 bedrooms, living room, dining room, office, kitchen, toilet and laundry. The ground floor house has a mezzanine over the south facing rooms.
This deployment relates to the upper platform support wall and the entrance of the ground. This set of tensions allows to relate in a single excavated volume, the dwelling, the porch, and the exterior path adjacent to the buildings, creating in its surroundings, garden spaces.
The design of the roof made it possible, with a controlled arm, to place an upper floor with an alternative program (facing East and North) and a lower floor facing South. “Regional modern”.
Formally, the house features a traditional water-straw roof with frank south-facing openings where the noble spaces of the house are located. A battery of services is facing North, where it is not essential to live for long periods of time. However, the possibility of ventilation of the house along a north-south axis gives it thermal capacity to heat and cool the spaces through passive energy, and it is not necessary to use forced ventilation solutions. The south-facing porches shade the cloths, avoiding sunstroke, but leaving the house brightly lit throughout the day.
The large chimney, the central theme of popular architecture, functions as a kneecap where the kitchen and the fireplace face the large living room.
